It's been extremely hard for me to not talk about this but I didn't want there to be any chance to spoil the surprise for Chad's family (they weren't telling them until they got to Michigan for x-mas). Chad proposed to Natalee on Sunday while hiking in the mountains under a waterfall by their new home in South Carolina. From the sounds of it he did an amazing job and was even able to sneak champagne for them to celebrate. While this was a long time coming we are all shocked and most importantly ecstatic. In fact when Natalee called to tell me the news while they were hiking back to the car I told her she was lying like a 100 times! I couldn't be happier for them and I can't wait to get this planning started. I knew eventually I would get to pay back my lil sis for everything she's done for me in the last 7 years (from planning a wedding to me having a baby). While I'm soo mad I can't be in Michigan with them to celebrate, we will do lots of celebrating in Punta Cana! XXOO

Addi Update

So, my little peanut was actually feeling a lot better last night, but still had a temp. of 102! I decided to make another doctor's appointment for today. I asked her school to call me though at noon to give me an update on whether or not she had a temp. Well, she was still temp free so I was questioning whether or not I really needed to take her to see the doctor this afternoon. After asking a couple of people and convincing me that I'm not a crazy overbearing mother I decided it wouldn't hurt. Luckily we got to see Dr. Sperber who Addison just loves. She's amazingly gentle and Addi seems so intrigued by her. GUESS WHAT? DOUBLE EAR INFECTION!!! I am so happy that I took her because Lord only knows how long this would of been bothering her without getting on antibiotics. Dr. Sperber thinks that whatever she was fighting could of lead to the ear infections and we're crossing our fingers that the antibiotics will help continue fighting whatever she has and there will be no more temps. The past 2 weeks haven't been the best when it comes to Addison's health, all the crying and sleepless nights we've had to endured, but I can finally say I'm getting my happy baby back. Its so weird how I took for granted how happy and loving she normally is. The last day in a half has been full of "ohh your so cute" now that she's able to laugh and smile more. I hope we don't have to go through this again for a long time because I love having my cute baby girl. Did I tell you she's trying to teach Roxy how to count?! Yup, Addi is now counting to 10 and singing along to her hippo piano that Grandma Cheryl got her for Christmas. So, keep your fingers crossed that these beautiful days of having the most amazing almost 22 month old will continue for a long time to come. I can get back to my routine and hopefully feel somewhat happy with my body when I leave on vacation in about 6 weeks! YIKES!

Am I a Bad Mom? ;o(

My Poor Baby is Still Sick!
I think this is the worst part of being a mom. Addison is still running a temperature and we have no idea what the heck is going on with her. I don't think its anything serious because she seems to be fine most of the day but this stingy fever just won't go away. Yesterday I had to pick her up from school because her temperature got to 103.8! Today I got another call because she was at 101.6. After going back and forth between the doctor's office and her school they were able to give her some Motrin to help control it. I feel like the worst mother ever because I can't stay home with her and just let her rest and get better. This is for sure when I second guess myself by making the decision to be a working mom rather than a stay at home one. Anyway my poor baby is getting a little more sleep so I think it will help her fight whatever it is that continues to cause this fever. If this fever sticks around for another day or so I think we may need to pay a visit to the doctor again and ask them to put her on some antibiotics. While I like that her doctor doesn't grab for his prescription pad every time we're there, but I think this may be getting a little out of hand. I just want my happy baby back! ;o(

Unfortunately Addison is sick once again! Poor baby just can't seem to catch a break and I feel like I haven't slept in months. Last week John's mom was here and we thought she was possibly getting through a bug and of course the worst of this "bug" hit her yesterday with a 103 temperature! John had to stay home with her today since I've basically used up all my vacation time for the other times she's been sick or got a boo boo. We decided since she's been battling this for a week now we should probably get her checked out even though we knew they wouldn't be able to do anything. One fun thing that came out of the $25 doctor visit is Addison is still only 21lbs with her clothes and shoes on. Its kind of funny because we were just talking about it yesterday wondering how much she now weighs. I'm happy to report that she can now wear 18 month clothes as long as the pants have that amazing invention with the elastic inside the pants that help tighten the waist. So, we'll see how the next couple of days go but as you can see from the pictures below we busted out the sunglasses again and she's a whole new woman. I don't know what it is but when she puts on those sunglasses it takes all her worries away. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that perhaps they worked some magic and she'll get some good sleep tonight and can go to school tomorrow!

Mind Over Matter

Wow! Its been a while since my last blog entry!!!

Well, life has been a little crazy since we left to go to SC for Thanksgiving. We had an amazing time, honestly any time that I get to spend with my family is always great. While sometimes we seem to get on each other's nerves we take a 5 minute time-out and things are back to normal. I love my family with all my heart and miss them everyday I don't get to see them. ;o(

So, back to the title of this blog! Most of you probably aren't aware that I have a slight anxiety issue. I have no idea where it came from but ever since I got pregnant with Addison and had to fly to Washington its been downhill from there. This is kind of gross but it started with John picking me up from work and us heading to the airport, I wasn't feeling all that great like I had to go to the bathroom and I made him stop at a fast food restaurant so that I could go. Well, the anxiety of being stuck in the car and not being able to use the restroom for a little while kind of freaked me out. I was making myself more sick and had no idea if I was going to make this trip. Seriously, I was thinking about saying "o'well we'll just have to try again tomorrow". In my head I knew there is no way that can happen. Anyway that's how this how anxiety with flying started and I'm beyond upset about it. I've been flying my whole life, probably more than most people so for me to have an issue with flying was just absurd. We've been so lucky to fly back and forth to Michigan with Addison but only with the help of Imodium A-D for me. Before I figured out that this actually eases my anxiety poor John would be stuck taking care of Addison while I was running back and forth to the bathroom or sitting in the airport thinking I was so sick and didn't know if I would be able to get on the plane. I talked to my doctor about this issue I was having and she ensured me that I wasn't crazy and this is a temporary thing that actually is very common in most new mothers and/or women who become pregnant. She was telling me that some women have it even worse where they can't go over bridges! So you'll never guess what happened to us yesterday!

John's mom flew in Saturday night for a week visit! Yesterday we decided to take Addison to the zoo for her very first time (she had a blast). We left the zoo at 5pm and went to get some dinner at International mall. We left around 6:30 and on our way over the Howard Franklin bridge there must of been a terrible accident because we found ourselves at a complete stop and nowhere to go. I've never been in a situation like this, John and his mom were talking about how this would happen all the time when they lived in Washington but I can honestly say I've never been in a situation where your on a bridge and all you can do is wait because no one is moving. I was doing great at first but then all these thoughts started running through my head. "What if I have to go to the bathroom?, what if I end up feeling nauseous and have to get sick?, what if I have a panic attack right now in front of my mother in-law and baby?" This is when I started talking myself down explaining that I am freaking out about nothing, this is all in my mind and I'm ok. Its almost like when you see those scary movies and people see ghosts and they say "your not real, your only in my mind..." this is how I was feeling. I can't believe that I have to go through this. I shouldn't be surprised that something like anxiety has come into my life. I swear out of all my siblings and family members I seem to have the most medical issues so why not just add one more psychological problem on top of it. While I've told myself I will never let anxiety and phobias rule my life I just wish these thoughts that enter my mind occasionally would never return. I think its a huge step to be capable of calming myself down and realizing that I'm the one who actually has control but once again I have to ask "WHY ME?"!

Today is the last day I have to work until Monday. I am so excited for a break and most importantly to just have a nice time with family without thinking about work.
We leave tomorrow morning for an hour flight to South Carolina to visit Tete and Chad. Our flight gets in around 9:45am which leaves the whole day open to explore this new town that Natalee just moved to. Luckily Natalee has decided to not go back to work after picking us up so we'll have plenty of time to get settled and plan for the days to come. So, of course Addison got hurt yesterday because you know once she gets better from one thing then another thing has to poor baby! She was going outside with her class and started to run to the playground and fell. Luckily she only scratched up her thumb but its all black and blue and swollen. She is able to move it but its pretty badly bruised. Its her right thumb which she's refusing to use that hand at all so I told John "haha she's going to be left handed" (I'm left handed)! I'm happy it happened yesterday rather than today so hopefully she'll be somewhat recovered by tomorrow.
My mom is leaving Michigan around 1pm tomorrow to drive to Greenville, it looks like its about an 11 hour drive so we will be sound asleep when she arrives. SHE BETTER NOT WAKE UP ADDISON! ;o) I can't wait to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my sister and mom, Natalee and I had so much fun last year when she came to Florida so it seems like its only getting better. Then Friday morning my mom, Natalee and I will get up and do some shopping! Those are the only plans that we have so far and I'm perfectly happy with that. I plan to just relax, drink some great wine and laugh alot!

Its really weird for me to say this but Addison is going to be 21 months old on Friday (1 year 9 months)! Seriously where is all this time going? I can't believe she's walking, running, talking, yelling at me, making choices and the most important one...saying I Love You back! While the whole "I love you" isn't as clear as when John and I say it but she's for sure saying it and I think she means it too! The transition from a private home daycare to a school has been a little hard on all of us, especially with trying to get into a routine and making sure Addison is comfortable. Last week was Addison's first full week there and she LOVES it. John drives her in the morning and every time he comes around the corner she yells "yeah" and is really excited trying to undo her seat belt all by herself. Every night before bed and each morning when I get her up I ask her if she's excited to go to school and she lights up and tells me "yes". I for sure know this was the best decision we've made as parents this far. She's adjusting and while I haven't worked out in almost 2 weeks I think we're starting to get a routine down and I'm praying this runny nose that started the 2nd day of her new school is just about done. I'm already getting great feedback from the teachers who tell me how great she is and how she loves interacting with all the other kids. Its especially nice to get an update everyday on what she did, how long she slept, how many diapers she went know the details I NEED to know in order to feel involved even though I can't physically be there. While I love Addison with all my heart and soul she has been such a little terror lately. I don't know if its because of the change in daycare or perhaps its because the "Terrible Twos" are coming. While I hear the "Terrible Twos" always hit early I just never thought I would be this exhausted trying to figure out why she's whining all the time. Seriously a couple of days last week as soon as I got her in the car she was yelling at me and whining until she went to bed. I'm not use to her being like that so needless to say I was a little stressed out. Luckily she's the most adorable baby girl in the world so she did have me smiling in between my frustration. Well, 3 more months and my little girl is going to be 2. She's the most amazing thing that ever happened to us and I couldn't imagine my life without her.

Natalee called me the other night to tell me about this amazing airline that we had no idea even existed, they fly from St. Pete/Clearwater airport right to Greenville/Spartenburg! The airline is Allegiant Air and we are super excited!!! Here's their link: Not only do they fly directly in to where Natalee lives they are super cheap too! So, this little situation got John and I to think...why the heck would we drive over 9 hours with a cranky baby, we should just fly for Thanksgiving! While this little trip turned out to be ALOT more expensive, I think my sanity is more important than money. I don't know what's going on with Addison lately but she is constantly whining and driving me crazy. We have a feeling it has to do with her adapting to her new school but geez she is just nonstop when I get her home. So with that being said we felt it would be best to take an hour 1/2 flight rather than a 9 hour drive. I'm so excited because this will really feel more like a vacation since we'll be there all day Wednesday thru Sunday morning! We're going to have so much fun exploring the new area Natalee and Chad live, enjoying an amazing Thanksgiving dinner, shopping till we drop the day after Thanksgiving and just having fun hanging out with family. I am so happy that Addison is constantly around family while its not everyday I think its great how much she's had the opportunity to visit. I'm really proud of our families with how involved they are and most importantly how John and I try to make visiting happen as much as possible. We love our family and friends so much and simply can't show or tell them enough!

As you may recall from a previous blog, I decided to get my teeth fixed to get my two front teeth back to how they were before I had Addison. So, yesterday was the big day and I have no idea why I was so excited. It was so painful when they put my first "tray" (retainer like apparatus) in, my whole chest broke out into hives I just couldn't believe how much I wanted to cry. I was having horrible flash backs from the first day Natalee and I got our braces. I remember we were sitting at the kitchen table just bawling and begging to get these things taken off. Luckily I also remembered that Advil was my best friend so I went right over to Walmart and bought some Advil. I don't know if this situation is better or worse, at least I can take this thing out when I need to but yet it hurts more than you know when I have to pop it back in. I'm hoping this is a possible way for me to lose some weight since I can't eat with it in my mouth and the last thing I really want to do is take it out and put it back in. I've already had a discussion with John and he has agreed that he won't say "I told you so" rather he will be very supportive and feel bad for me. Lucky for me they said it should only hurt for a couple of days and I need to come back in 3 weeks to start my 2nd basically as soon as I feel comfortable I'll have to go through it all over again. Wish me luck!!! There's no turning back now I'm excited, scared and just plain dumb for doing this!!!

Our Visitor Has Come and Gone

Addison Loves Her Auntie April

It was so much fun having my big sister April here to help me while John was away travelling. While I could probably handle little Miss Addi on my own its always a nice excuse to get my family to come out to visit and spend some time with us. It was finally my sister April's turn to get her butt out here and we had a lot of fun. She ended up being a lot more help than she thought she would. Unfortunately Addison had to come home early from daycare on Tuesday due to a 101 temperature. Since they have a rule she can't come back for at least 24 hours without a doctor's note I had to work from home on Wednesday. Lucky for me April flew in Wednesday night and I didn't have to stay home Thursday or Friday. I couldn't believe it was Addison's first week at her new daycare and she lasted a day in a half! Anyway back to my special visitor! We had so much fun just hanging out and catching up. Talking about when we grew up and laughing at Addison constantly. I can't thank her enough for helping me but more importantly just being there for me when I needed her. I love you April and I can't wait to see you in February!

Testing facility to open near Greer; move creates 25 jobs
By Trevor
Published: Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12:29 p.m. Last Modified: Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12:29 p.m.

Akron, N.Y.-based MGA Research Corp., a leading independent testing company, announced Thursday it will open a testing facility in Spartanburg County near Greer. The move is expected to create 25 new jobs.
The 15,000-square-foot facility is at 820 Suburban Park Drive in the Gateway Business Center off Highway 101 behind the BMW Performance Driving School.
Company spokeswoman Natalee Ramsden said the move would bring MGA Research closer to many of its primary customers, primarily BMW Manufacturing Co., but the facility is geared toward serving a variety of industries based in the area.
“We wanted to be in this growing southern automotive corridor,” Ramsden said. “We looked at Alabama and other states, but we decided to land here because we have a relationship with BMW, Lear, Draexlmaier, Faurecia and others.”
“The new facility will bring our company closer to the growing number of automotive facilities in the South,” Patrick Miller, president of MGA Research Corp., said in a statement. “Spartanburg County is the ideal location because of the strong infrastructure and quality of the workforce in the area. We look forward to becoming a part of the business community in the Upstate.”
It is the company’s fourth test facility in the United States. MGA operates facilities in New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, and also has international locations in Korea, India, China and Brazil.
According to MGA’s Web site, it provides testing services for the automotive, aerospace, military, battery and consumer products industries.
Some of its offerings include engineering, consulting, physical testing, product benchmarking, test equipment, laboratory development and design-related services.
“We are excited to welcome MGA Research to Spartanburg County and appreciate that the company has chosen our community,” Carter Smith, executive director of the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Futures Group, said in a statement. “They will be a welcomed addition to our automotive-related industry segment.”
The Greer facility is currently online and an open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Friday.
For information about the open house, call Ramsden at 848-3088, or e-mail

My Big Sis Is Coming!!!

April and Arielle (April's oldest)

I'm so excited! My sister April is coming to visit us!!! This will be her first time here and I can't wait. April is my oldest sister, while we're half sisters that really doesn't mean much to me. April is my moms oldest daughter from her first marriage. April's been stuck with me since day 1 so there's really no half involved. I know what some of you are thinking "geez I need a diagram" (Mindy G.) but too bad!!! Anyway, she gets in at 4:23 and we are making good ol' coney dogs from Michigan. John will be travelling Wednesday through Friday so it will just be the girls for a couple of days. I for sure want to show her a good time especially since she doesn't get to travel much so hopefully we can show her the best time ever!!!

Cutest Red Head Ever!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Allie!!! Allie is turning 3 and I just can't believe it. She's getting so big and just so fast. Unfortunately we don't get to see Allie very often because she lives in Washington with her mommy Jen, daddy John and big sister Erin. This is John's sister's 2nd baby girl and ohh my goodness she's 3 now. She's so darn cute and we miss her every day. Hope you have a fun birthday and get to eat lots of cake, eat a piece for each of us!

Pigtails and Ponytails are Overrated...Right???

Look How Crazy Her Hair Is!!!
(she's trying to change her baby's diaper)

So, I'm at a point right now where I'm freaking out about Addison's hair!!! For the longest time I've wanted it to grow and hope that its curly like how John's hair was when he was a toddler. Now I'm taking it all back (kinda). Honestly, I knew this day would come eventually where I would have to figure out how to do pigtails, ponytails and make my daughter's hair look super cute! I've bought sooo many hair products for Addison's hair and the only thing I've semi-mastered is the barrette. Well, even now I'm wondering if I've been doing that right. Anyway I started practicing tonight and was so frustrated. I don't understand how my old daycare lady's daughter got Addison's hair into perfect pigtails like 4 months ago!!! Addison has way more hair now and I am just dumbfounded. So, John asked if he could try. I fricken knew that he would be able to get her hair to look decent. Anyway, I'm not giving up but now I'm rethinking this whole "girls are the best, I love having a girl"!

Seriously, Can I Get Some Lessons???

Fun at Yates Cider Mill

Yates is located in a great area. It only takes us about 20 minutes to get there from my dad so its the perfect amount of time before Addison gets restless in her car seat. I remember when I was younger we would have to drive kind of far to get to the Cider Mill. I'm sure that's because the best ones are a little further away from the city but seriously Yates is perfect. I didn't realize how much they had there and each year we go there I find more things to do.

John, Addison and I started our adventure to the Cider Mill about a 1/2 hour before everyone we invited so that we could get some family pictures done as well as some new pictures of Addison. Claudette Ginter did an amazing job and I would highly recommend her to take your pictures. I've posted the link in case I didn't already email it to you.

We had such a great time. After we were done with the pictures it was time to visit with friends and family over some yummy cider and delicious donuts. Its funny every time I plan something like this I always think I'll be able to sit down and actually catch up with family but its always the opposite. I seem to jump around like crazy making sure I see everyone but never really taking a second to just sit and relax. I really need to keep this in mind the next time I'm in town because I really do want to spend more quality time with everyone. It was still a lot of fun, Addison rode the Pony, ate donuts and drank cider with her cousins and most importantly Addi got to see family and friends we don't get to see very often. I'm so incredibly lucky that she's not a shy baby because when we come to Michigan or even Washington she's always surrounded by people she doesn't see on a regular basis. Perhaps that's why she's not shy!!! I can't thank everyone enough for coming to visit with us last Saturday. It was so nice to see my friends Julie and Megan who both had babies about 7 months after Addison was born and we also got to see Brayden who is 3 weeks older than Addison. Hopefully next time we can actually talk and I can get updates on everything!

Our Cider Mill fun ended with Addison falling asleep in the car! She never does that so I think that indicated that she had ALOT of fun!

Visitors - Recap of Thursday & Friday in MI

Beautiful Baby Addi Hiding from Me
It was so fun to see everybody and it was so nice for people to stop by and visit with us at my dads house. I'm a little sad that I didn't get a picture of Addison and my Aunt Michele since we hardly ever get to see her, but I guess there's next time.
Addi and I had a lot of fun in Michigan (John too but he worked most of the time). I was actually shocked by how much Addison slept while we were there but perhaps that's what she normally does during the week and then tricks us when she's home all day on the weekends (my daycare lady is lucky). With Addison sleeping for 3-4 hours I got to get some rest too so it was actually kind of nice. Thursday was a nice day with my Aunt Michele who drove 2 1/2 hours each way to come visit us for about 3 hours. We got to catch up and just hang out.
My sister April then stopped by around 5pm and had Addison cracking up. It was nice that she could come by before work so I could get some cute pictures of her in her scrubs! It was a great practice run since she will be visiting us next week!

Auntie Nurse April and Addison

Friday my dad took the day off and three of us hung out (kind of). We went to lunch at one of my favorite restaurants and then he had to do some running around. This was another day that Addison slept for like 3 hours. So, around 4 we all got up from our naps and started getting Addison ready for her Trick or Treating fun. Below are some pictures of our visitors on Friday!

Monday, November 3, 2008

This was seriously the best Halloween of my life. Seeing Addison excited to put her costume on and ready to run out the door was just beautiful. I was of course stressed and completely forgot to decorate her face but her costume was so darn cute she didn't need it anyway. She had so much fun running down the sidewalk kicking all the leaves and chasing John you couldn't help but just laugh the whole time. After the first couple of houses she for sure had the hang of it and knew exactly what she was doing.

It was so funny to see her run up to the door and start knocking yelling "HELLO", she would try to patiently wait but her knocks would only get louder the longer the person took to come to the door. She would be a little offended when the person put the candy directly into her Hello Kitty bag that my mom got for her. She would then put her hand back into her bag, take the candy out and then put it back in there. She would give the look like "hey, your suppose to hand it to me"! Geez! I was actually very surprised to see how long she lasted. We went all the way down my dads street then crossed and did the other side. By the 4th or 5th time she fell it was time to call it a night.

It was so great to have my dad, my mom and John's dad join us while we chased after our little bunny. I will seriously never forget this night and I know it can only get better as Addi gets older.

I must say I'm quite excited to be leaving for Michigan this afternoon. Apparently Florida wanted to get us ready for the cold weather because its been freezing here the last couple of days. I'm not kidding my car said 48 degrees this morning! Anyway I'm most excited to see family members that I haven't seen in a VERY long time.

Thursday my Aunt Michele (dads younger sister) is driving down from Grand Rapids to spend some time with me and Addi. After I talked to my Aunt Michele I then talked to my Aunt Donna (my dads younger brother's wife). She's going out of town for the weekend so we didn't think we would be able to connect but now that she knows I'll be available Thursday she might come by too with little Brayden who's 3 weeks older than Addison. I'm still trying to figure out how to squeeze in my friend Melissa after they leave but I'm very doubtful that will happen. April is coming to visit us around 5 before she has to go to work and then John and I are meeting up with my Mom & Al and Tom & Michele at our favorite restaurant Bravo for dinner!

Friday my dad and I are going to hang out all day. I'm so excited to just relax and do nothing. I told my dad that we have to go to J Alexanders for lunch and I may need to squeeze in a couple of stores at Somerset but that's about it. Then we are having the other Grandparents over to go Trick-or-Treating with my little Hop Hop! She's going to be so darn cute and I can't wait to take a million pictures of her with the family.

Saturday will start out with going to the cemetery to do the grave blanket for my Nana. Addison's never been there and I'm hoping to find some Nana decorations to put around her area. I'm praying its not too cold. After that its off to the Cider Mill for some family pictures with Claudette and then visiting family and friends with cider and donuts. Once again I hope its not freezing! After that we will go back to my dads to let Addi take a nap and then once she wakes up we're off to Auntie April's to celebrate Arielle's 17th birthday with Coney Dogs!!!!

We leave Sunday morning at 11:35, luckily Daylight Savings Time ends so we won't miss out on an hour.

I know this is going to go so fast so I'm going to try and enjoy every second of it. I don't think we'll be going back there until Addison's 2nd birthday (that sounds weird)!

However, when it comes time for playoffs or getting a front row seat to a game I'm in!!! As most of you know the Tampa Bay Rays are in the World Series and its been a crazy adventure. For someone who doesn't really like baseball I've been yelling at the TV quite a bit. John laughs and gets a little nervous that I'm turning into my father. My dad also gets quite upset and likes to yell at the TV when one of his favorite teams are losing or doing stupid things. Anyway I'm super tired this morning and still have a little hope that Tampa can bounce back and finish this off with a huge win!

Punta Cana Here We Come!!!

1st Trip to Punta Cana (soo much fun)!!

I am soooo excited! We have officially booked our trip for February. We've decided to go back to the Dominican Republic due to their beautiful resorts and reasonable price. This trip is going to be so much fun even though I'm going to miss Addi like crazy! My mom is super excited to come stay with her though and luckily its only 4 nights 5 days. This trip will also be a little different because my sister Natalee and her boyfriend are joining us. We were finally able to plan a trip together and I can't wait to relax in the sun and have some refreshing cocktails. So, we leave February 4th better work even hard to fit my booty into a bathing suit.

So, I've decided to just put all the birthday's I missed into one blog since I'm so behind and running out of energy to do these each night. I'm motivated to get back on track!

Happy Belated Birthday Melissa!!! While at least I didn't forget you since I sent you a card on time but I do want to pay tribute to you on my blog. Melissa and I met at Oakland University. We were both Psychology majors and struggled with getting through the last couple of classes together. Lucky her she busted butt and graduated a semester before me so we didn't get to do the walk together. We became especially close the last couple of classes and became true friends. She was one of the first people I told when I found out I was moving away to Florida and then found out 2 weeks later that I was pregnant. She was so excited for me hoping the same thing would happen for her and Nathan soon too. Well, the week before I moved I got to hear the news first that her and Nathan were in fact expecting!!! I was so happy for them but so bummed because we wouldn't be able to go through it physically together. There were lots of emails and Myspace comments, Dylan was born 5 weeks after Addison. I'm still really sad that we can't hang out and have play dates as much as I would like to but we are constantly in touch and keeping each other updated with pictures. Especially ones of her new little one Carson. Yup! Melissa informed me a couple days after Addison's 1st birthday that they were expecting again. I'm so happy for her she deserves all the happiness in the world. I love you Melissa and I feel so lucky to have you in my life and as my friend!

Happy belated Birthday Aunt Tamie!!! If you recall my fireworks story from the 4th of July, this is my Aunt who's house we would do the fireworks at in the field behind her house. I'll never forget the theme parties you would have in the summer. The year I moved away to Washington Mom sent me a video of the one I missed so I will always have some sort of documentation of your crazy parties. Then the year we did Race for the Cure together...I just loved the drive to the race, I was so nervous to tell you and Melissa that I was moving to Florida and when I said "I have something to tell you guys" you said "Your Pregnant" while that wasn't it you were in fact right since I found out 2 weeks later I was indeed pregnant! I love you very much Aunt Tamie and miss you very much I wish you had email/internet so we could keep in touch more often!

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY PAPA/DAD!!!! It was John's dads birthday on Monday. I swear he looks younger every time I see him. I'm so proud of him and everything he's been doing with his life. Tom worked for Ford Motor for 34 years and just retired a couple of years ago. When he retired he decided to go to school to become a personal trainer. Well, he's doing awesome and is now actually working out of his house training people. Tom's always been into working out and staying fit and I'm just so happy that he gets to do something that he loves for a living. We love you very much!!!

Happy belated Birthday Baby Brother!!! I seriously can't believe that my little brother, the baby of the family is 26! Seriously it seems like yesterday that he couldn't pronounce is R's and he looked like a little car salesman in the suit my mom had him wear for x-mas. Now I'm starting to really feel old. Greg is a spitting image of my dad. He looks like him, he talks like him and they both have the same sense of humor. He's the sweetest guy who just wants to be a pro golfer, seriously is that too much to ask for! ;o) Anyway I love him dearly and I can't say it enough...I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR 26!

Happy belated Birthday Sarah!!!! Sarah is John's little sister and is also the baby of John's side of the family. I'm also going to have to say I can't believe she's 17 this year! I've known Sarah since she was very young. I first got to meet Sarah when John took me to Washington to visit his family. I think I was 17 and John was 19, when you look at it that way its weird Sarah could possibly meet the man of her dreams and end up marrying him 5 years later!

Sarah & Addi Last Year Visiting

Happy belated Birthday Aunt Carrie!!! My Aunt Carrie is the youngest out of my mom's siblings. I have sooo many memories of her taking such great care of me when I was younger. The most memorable time I had with my Aunt Carrie had to of been when I was super young and my parents were having a party at our Detroit house. It was the summer and I ate way too many strawberries and ended up getting really sick. She took great care of me by giving me a bath and rubbing my belly afterwards. Well, to this day she thinks that I'm allergic to strawberries. People try to tell her that it was probably due to me eating too many strawberries rather than being allergic, she doesn't think so. Hey, I let her think what she wants especially since I was lucky enough to have her there to make me feel better. I love my Aunt Carrie very much and always will!

Arielle turned 17 on Friday! Ohh my goodness this for sure makes me feel old. While I already blogged about my little Arielle (1st niece) I for sure need to express how proud I am of her and just can't believe what a little lady she's turned out to be. She's a Senior in High School now and plan on going to college next week (possibly Oakland University). I just want her to know she can do whatever she wants with her life as long as she stays determined and remembers if she needs anything I'm always there for her. I love you very much and I couldn't be prouder to be your aunt!
