Addison Marie is Turning 2 Tomorrow!!!

Well, I can't believe it but my baby is turning 2 tomorrow (2/28). Its so weird yet extremely exciting to see her get older and doing all these "big girl" things. I took her to the doctor for her 2 year checkup and she's finally made it on the charts. She weighed 23lbs which puts her between the 5th and 10th percentile and she's 34 1/2 inches which puts her between the 50th and 75th percentile. This is exciting news because she's never on the charts for weight so it looks like she's doing good! Some of the highlights from the last year are as follows:

1. Addison became a professional walker. While she started taking a couple of steps right before her first birthday she for sure got a lot better which now has turned into running away from me and saying "NO"!

(Her 1st Steps Right Before her B'day)

2. Addison's hair finally started to grow. I was freaking out a little bit on the whole issue. As you can see from the first picture we are for sure dealing with a fro. Now I'm asking myself...Why did I want her hair to grow?

(Hair in the back but what about the front)

3. We took Addison to the Zoo for the first time and she loved it. It was nice too because John's mom Mindy was able to share this experience with us. In fact she loved it so much we thought it would be fun to take her there tomorrow for her birthday!

4. We got to go to Washington state to visit John's Mom and Sister. It was so much fun to go out there and show Addison where we use to live and where part of her daddy's side of the family lives. While she may not remember it, we took a ton of pictures so that she will have something to show her she was in fact there. While we gave her a little taste we will for sure be going back there within the next year or two.

5. We had MANY visitors come see us!!! Auntie April came for the first time, cousin Arielle came for the first time, Tete visited us a couple of times, Grandpa came and stayed with us a couple of times, Grandmama Mindy was here a couple of times, Figone family, Papa and Aunt Terry made it out to Florida and we can't forget when Grandma Cheryl was here. Poor Grandma Cheryl probably had it the hardest since John and I weren't there and she was battling the flu with Addison. We can't thank people enough for taking the time to come stay with us. We love having everyone here and it really helps Addison adjust to new faces. I'm so happy that John and I have such an amazing support system and just can't say enough on how much fun we have every time people visit.

6. Of course I have to touch on the fact that my baby is talking up a storm. John and I really have to watch what we say these days because without a doubt whatever comes out of our mouths Addi is for sure repeating it. Its amazing how she can go from saying "dada" to saying "where your glasses go?" (when I take my glasses off). She's counting and now she's learning the alphabet. I can't thank the daycare's that she's been in enough because I truly believe they really did all the work in getting her to where she is. This makes me a little nervous since I'm staying home with her now. I'm determined to continue teaching her to expand her knowledge and the only difference will be ALOT of kisses and hugs in between.

There's soo many things I can touch on but this will be like a 100 pages. I just want to end with saying how much I love being Addison's mom. I'm so proud of everything she's accomplishing everyday and I truly believe that how she is as she's getting older reflects on the job that John and I are doing. I thought this would be sooo hard without having family near by but to honest its only made us stronger as a family and appreciate my family more when they come to visit or we visit them. Addison is our world and I'm beyond excited to create more memories in the year to come.

Baby Jones is Official!!!

My sister April went to the doctor today and everything looks really good! The heartbeat was at 158 and everything looked how it should when someone is 8 weeks pregnant. Since this will be my sisters 4th baby and she's had 3 C-sections previously this baby will be born a little early. Depending on what kind of cut she had done the baby will either be here a week early or 3 weeks early. So, from the look of things we are going to have a little Jones baby in September rather than October. I couldn't be more happy for my sister April and brother in-law Jason. This is going to be a whole new experience for my sister April and I'm super excited she gets to go through this all over again. Her life is so much different now than when she had the other kids so it will be all new to her. I was actually shocked to hear that they aren't finding out what the sex is, I told my sister "I can't believe your going to torture us like that". Anyway it will be a great surprise and to be honest, anyone who can wait to find out what they're having deserve all the respect in the world. I only wish I had an ounce of that kind of patience. I can't wait to meet my new niece or nephew and spoil the crap out of them. Congratulations April and Jason!!!

I am soooo excited to have my computer back!!! I had no idea how much I depended on this little piece of machinery. I have never been so frustrated and annoyed in my life, not having a computer that is working properly can really put a girl in a bad mood.

Unfortunately while we were away on our trip to the Dominican my mom accidentally downloaded a virus that took over our entire computer. As you know from past blogs John wasn't exactly up for trying to fix our computer and don't even think about asking me to do it. It took us a couple of weeks but we now have a fully functioning computer. Luckily one of John's employees knows a thing or two about computers so he was able to help us out and get the right antivirus blah, blah, blah stuff on here to fix the problem. So far everything seems to be working, it runs a little slow but that's a good thing because it means we shouldn't have anymore virus' invading our computer. I know I'm terrible because when John was trying to explain what we needed to fix the problem I basically tuned him out. I have no interest in understanding what's wrong with it I just want it to be fixed yesterday. Anyway I'm more than grateful for my loving husband to jump on getting this fixed ASAP, now I can sleep at night and keep up with all my important work (Facebook, blogging, surfing the Internet, etc.)!!!

P.S. CONGRATULATIONS to Stefanie and Curtis Hays!!! They welcomed a beautiful baby girl today at 12:16 pm. Welcome to the world Miss Brooke Elizabeth, you are sooo lucky to have such loving parents!!!

Thank You Citizen Cope!!!!

Saturday night John and I had a great evening just the two of us. We had a nice dinner and proceeded to go over to Jannus Landing to see my favorite band (Citizen Cope) in concert. John and I have never been to this venue before and I'm really excited that we had a chance to finally see a concert here. Its pretty small yet there were tons of people there. Its actually located outside and there were a ton of places to stand. Since I'm a member of the Citizen Cope fan club I got to order my tickets early however what sucked about that was we had to wait for 45 minutes in the Purchase/Will Call line. Luckily I had already talked to myself about not freaking out because it really didn't matter how close we get to the stage, I was excited just to see this band live. Well, when we got in there it was awesome. John found a spot towards the back where you could walk about these stairs and be on a deck. It was seriously perfect. Even though we were in the back we could see the stage so clearly. The concert was suppose to start at 9:00 but it didn't start until after 9:30. Looks like they couldn't find an opening act because Clarence Greenwood (lead singer) got up on stage and started playing with his band. I will honestly say that this is the first concert that I had butterflies even before the band started. I have never been so excited to see someone perform. I don't know what it is about this music but I get chills. I love the sound, lyrics and more importantly it really makes me think. I highly recommend this band to anyone. Its so hard to pinpoint what category this music would fall into so all I can really say is AMAZING music!!! I was on the verge of tears when the night was coming to an end, I didn't want the music to stop so of course when I got home I turned my iPod on and we listened some more. I can't wait to see them again, this is for sure a band I will go to see over and over again!!!

Get Ready for a FUN October!!!!

It looks like its going to be a very busy October!!! Last night I got a very exciting phone call from my older sister April, I'm going to be an aunt again!!! I'm still in shock and can't believe that we're going to have a new addition to the family in October. Actually we're technically going to have 2 new additions because Natalee's getting married too. Its so weird how things work but Natalee's getting married October 10th and April's due October 12th! I couldn't be more excited about both of these amazing events. I can't wait to see my little sister walk down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams and see my big sister become a mom again!!! Not only will it be a fun October but the journey is going to be even more exciting, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

What a Beautiful Day!

Addison and I had a great day today!!! It was the first real "Stay At Home Mom" day and I must say I really enjoyed it. While I woke up this morning with a little bit of a sore throat I decided I'm sick of all these stupid obstacles and I'm just going to ignore it. Addison woke up as always at 7am, which I can't complain since I was getting up at 5:30 when I was working! We ate breakfast and watched Franklin for a while. Then around 9:30 we left to go to the gym, while I need the workouts I also thought this would be a great way for Addison to still play with other kids even though its not all day at least its for 2 hours. After we got home it was time for lunch and then time for Addison to take a nap. After I put her down for a nap I took a shower and got to sit down for about 30 minutes. Addison woke up around 2pm and I got her ready to run some errands. We went to Kohls, Bath and Body Works and Target. Starbucks was on the list but after Addison's diaper leaked and she was soaked I decided it was best to just get home. After we got home and I changed her clothes Addison got to ride her new tricycle that Grandma Cheryl got her. She had such a blast and continued to tell me that she was "playing". We then played on her new slide that Tete got her, I swear she would go up and down that slide all day if I let her. By the time we were done "playing" it was 5:00 and it was now time to start preparing dinner. John got home a little after 6 and we ate dinner together. Next was bath and bedtime. It was such a beautiful day and I really enjoyed every minute of it. I would have to say my favorite part was in the morning when Addi and I were cuddling and she gave me the biggest hug, looked and me and said "I love you mommy" and then grabbed my face and gave me a big kiss. Seriously, I am the luckiest person in the whole world. ;o)

Pig vs. Cow Argument

Unfortunately Addison and I didn't get out for very long on Friday. We've been stuck in the house due to John and I not feeling all that great and I have a feeling the flu John and I were dealing with after we got back from our trip made it back to Addison. Luckily she wasn't vomiting but needless to say I was changing ALOT of diapers. Anyway I was just really hoping to not watch Noggin for the day and we would actually get to go play. Since that didn't happen Addison insisted that we watch her "show". When she says "show" that basically means anything that I don't want to watch. As she sat on my lap and we watched her "show" this time being The Wonder Pets I asked her "ahh do you see the cow?" she proceeds to tell me "pig!" so I have to correct her and tell her that this particular animal is a cow and not a pig, "no mommy, pig!" I am not kidding, we went back and forth at least 20 times and there was no way that I was going to convince her that its not a pig...its a cow!!! She was seriously yelling at me and couldn't believe that I thought her pig was a cow. Anyway I thought I would share this story because I know this is just the beginning. My baby is turning 2 in 2 weeks and the arguing has already begun.

Wow! I must say life has been a little crazy for the last 2 weeks. I'm really hoping the bad luck that I've had is ready to end because I don't think I can take anymore. While I was sooo excited about my trip to Punta Cana unfortunately it was the worst vacation EVER!!! I'm trying to figure out which part of it sucked the most...
First: Addison woke up at 2:00 am the morning we were leaving. John got up with her because I had to get up at 4:00. Well, after trying to get her back to sleep she ended up vomiting all over John. We were in complete shock and hoped it was just a one time thing. Well an hour later after we thought we got her back to sleep she vomited again. After vomiting several times before we could get out the door I felt like the worst mother because we had to leave. My poor baby had to be sick without her mommy. Luckily my mom is for sure the next best thing (besides John) and I knew she was in good hands. I just felt terrible that I had to leave my mom to take on this terrible task.
Second: After a couple of minor delays we got to Punta Cana and checked into our upgraded Paradise Club. When we walked in the room the view was terrible. We were on the 3rd floor and got to see all the workers building the new building next door. John and I decided it wasn't a big deal since hopefully we really wouldn't be in our room much anyway. Luckily, my sister and Chad were in the room right next to us so that worked out pretty good!
Third: John and I got to layout by the pool for about 2 hours the first day we got there and then until about 1pm the second day. After that it was all over! It rained extremely hard for the rest of our vacation. While we had a great time playing Connect Four, Scrabble and cards this wasn't exactly how I pictured my first vacation away from Addison to be. It was so sad to see 2 full days go by with lots of rain and very dark clouds. Needless to say John and I were so excited to go home and see Addison.
Fourth: We were lucky enough to call my mom every night just to see how things were going. Friday night my mom really told us how it was going and that she had to take Addison to the doctor today due to her still vomiting and having diarrhea. Not only was Addison sick but my poor Mom got sick too. This conversation had anxiety written all over it. Now I really couldn't wait to get home to see my baby. I felt terrible that my mom got sick too and was trying to take care of herself on top of a sick baby.
Fifth: We left Sunday morning to come home but didn't get back to Florida until Monday night! We had to wait for over an hour for our taxi to take us to the airport on top of John feeling like he was about to puke and me having issues myself. We got to the airport and luckily it was a smooth check-in from there. We got on our plane and arrived in Purto Rico to get ready for a 4 hour layover. When we got off the plane we noticed our plane was now delayed for an additional 2 hours. Then a couple hours later it was another 2 hours. Our plane finally came in around 11:30 pm and they wanted to make sure we rushed to get on the plane so it could leave right away. After getting everyone on the plane it was about 12:20 and we were still sitting there and waiting. The captain came on to announce that there is a leak that needs to be fixed and unfortunately the crew is out of time to fly so this flight will need to take place tomorrow rather than tonight. We had to get off the plane and then proceed to get vouchers to go to a hotel that we had to take a taxi to. Keep in mind John and I are still sooo sick and just want to get home. We both didn't sleep that night and I had a feeling that Monday wouldn't go as smoothly as the crew made it sound. We got to the airport a little after 9 to catch our 11:45 flight and the line was enormous. It took about 45 minutes to get up to the desk which we then learned that our flight was cancelled. They couldn't fix the plane so they needed to figure out a different way for us to get home. I just lost it and started bawling. I couldn't believe it and didn't understand why this was happening. In fact I saw a Priest standing in line in front of us and I truly wanted to ask him to pray for us. I don't know what we did but we made someone mad up above. Luckily we had a great person helping us and we got on the 2nd flight that we were standby. We got from Puerto Rico to Miami with no problems, the flight was delayed a little bit but we had plenty of time since the next flight didn't take off until 6:00. We go to check-in and they tell us we're not on this flight. We eventually found out that they gave our seats away because they didn't think our other flight would make it. After talking to a Manager they took 2 people off and put us on. We arrived into Tampa at 7:00 pm. I couldn't of been any happier and believe me unless I absolutely have to I will NEVER fly American Airlines again. The people were so rude except for the 2 people who actually helped us but everyone else we encountered could careless about our situation and what was happening to us. My mom bought her ticket to come out here for $169 I had to pay $260 for her to switch her flight for the very next day. Believe me I will be contacting American Airlines because I want to be reimbursed for the hell this company just put me through.
Sixth: Unfortunately my Mom accidentally downloaded "Antivirus 300" on our computer so now its all messed up. I'm able to do some stuff on it here and there and then it kicks me out. Luckily John played with it last night and was able to delete it but its still not right. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is the last thing besides getting my stomach back to normal.

So, this was our trip and as you can see it didn't go soo hot. I would never recommend the resort NH Real Arena (EdeNH) the food was terrible, the rooms smelled, the service sucked and over all it just wasn't what I expected at all! I will never fly through Puerto Rico because come to find out that airport is a nightmare anyway, lots of people have issues with getting out of this airport. I will never fly American Airlines and most importantly I don't plan on leaving my baby again for a VERY long time. I've learned soo many lessons the last couple of weeks and now I'm ready for my luck to turn around. ;o(

Off to the Dominican Republic!!!

I can't believe it but its time for my much needed vacation! My mom flies in today and John and I leave early tomorrow morning. I can't wait to soak up some sun, spend time with my sister Natalee and have many drinks without worrying about taking care of Addison the next morning. I use to be a big drinker and stay up all night but ever since getting pregnant those days have been over. While I am fully aware of being 30 now and I probably won't be capable of staying up all night and drinking like I use to its going to be a great time. I'll for sure be taking advantage of the time John and I have without a baby attached to my leg. Anyway I'll miss you all and will share the fun we had when we get back!!!
