Pee Pee on the Potty!!!

After struggling for many, many, many months Addison has now decided its time to go on the potty!!! It was honestly the weirdest thing...I went to get her from her bed last Wednesday morning and after we were laying there for a while she said "mommy, I need to go pee pee on the potty". I was like "WHAT"? So, I scooped her up and put her on my toilet. She didn't go, but I told her that's OK we'll just keep trying. After about a 1/2 hour she said it again. This time I put her on her little toilet and sure enough, she went. I was so excited, but tried not to make too big of a deal out of it because last time it got me into trouble, she went once and I called my whole family, was screaming so excited and she didn't go again until now! With only a couple of accidents that day she was going on her potty like a champ! I even got to bust out the big girl underwear and called just a couple of family members. John and I decided that it was pretty safe to make a really big deal out of this so I had him stop to get her some gifts. She knew how proud we were of her, but I honestly think she was truly proud of herself. We got her some flowers, a balloon and a mommy/baby panda. She was so excited, John and I couldn't tell her enough how proud we were of her.

Addison is for sure hard headed and likes to do things on her terms. Once I finally got to the point of telling John that we need to stop freaking out about this potty training thing she decides to do it. I'm totally fine with that. We don't get many surprises in life and I'll tell you this was a huge surprise to me. I thought we would have to force her to do this a month before she started school, but nope we get to have the whole summer to continue practicing what she will need to be doing on her own once she gets to school. It has now been over a week and she's doing great. We still have an accident here and there, but OMG she even went poop at Chuck E. Cheese the other day. She's already doing the pee pee dance when she has to go and tells us when she has to go when we're out. I was a little nervous that this transition would be so annoyingly hard on John and I b/c of the extra work you need to put in to make sure there aren't any accidents, but I'll be the first to say "I WAS WRONG". Its crazy that we are now getting through this huge milestone and get to concentrate on the next one come August when she goes to school!!

Addison's 1st Soccer Season

(Addison's #4!!)

(Of course she had to have a pink ball!)

I'm a little sad to say the Addison's 1st soccer season has come to an end. I thought overall the experience was great and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was kind of hard to tell if Addison was having any fun at first since she would come off the field every 2 minutes to get a drink of water or just to hang out. I really didn't know what to expect since I started playing soccer much older than 3, but I really liked how they handled this age group. Its really nice that they let all the kids play out there no matter how many kids you have, there is no score keeping and its kind of like a free for all. If the kids get tired and want to come off they can, but if they want to run around the whole time they can do that too. From my previous entry I noted how my little brother was a little confused by what was going, it is a little bit of chaos, but you have to remember they are 3 and 4! I think its a great experience and as the kids get older you can tell whether or not this is something they want to continue to do. John was a little worried Addison didn't like it, but every time we got in the car after the game she was so excited and said "I LOVE SOCCER"!!! I think its safe to say we'll be trying this again in the Fall.

I think my favorite part of the season had to be whenever Addison and Kayleigh (Addi's BFF) would run up and down the field holding hands. It would not only stop with them holding hands but they would eventually end up in the little pop up goal. It never got old and would always make everyone laugh!

(Addison & Kayleigh hanging out in the goal)

John and I can't believe how fast time is flying, I love having the opportunity to watch my baby girl grow and seeing her do things I remember doing as a kid. I hope she will always love staying active and love having her parents on the sidelines cheering her on!

I honestly have the best mom in the whole wide world!!! She's constantly spoiling us and reminding us how much we are missed everyday. She's the one who taught me to be a giver and showed me how much fun it is to be the one to brighten a persons day. She makes a room come alive when she enters it and always puts a smile on every ones face. I feel so lucky to have such an incredibly strong woman as my mom and hope to continue to learn from her.

I love you mom, thank you for always making me feel so special and for having such a huge impact in my life. I hope you have the best birthday and a beautiful year to come!!! XOXO

Greg & Kelly Take On the Vranich's

(Greg & Kelly)

We had some really special guests come stay with us a couple of weeks ago. My baby brother and his girlfriend Kelly flew out to visit us for a long weekend. I don't even know where to begin because we had SOOOOO much FUN!!! It was a little nerve racking at first because their flight continued to keep being pushed back more and more each day before they were coming, luckily it stopped with 10:06pm on Thursday night. Friday, Kelly and I got to hang out and get to know each other a little better while the guys went off to golf. Kelly and I went to lunch and then went to the pool to get some sun. It was really great having some one on one time with her since the only time I ever get with her is pretty short whenever we are in town visiting. I must say that while I was already pretty happy with the fact that her and my brother found each other I was even more smitten with the fact that this girl actually has a personality and could really hang with our very loud/crazy family. Its not very often that you find someone that your sibling is dating and you can't find one thing to complain about. I really hope my brother knows how lucky he is to have the relationship that they have. I'm sure both of them have something to complain about because as we all one is perfect, but seriously I think they are PERFECT for each other!!! I love that they constantly make each other laugh and they balance each other in so many ways. I really hope I'm not jinxing anything because I would really like for this girl to be a Ramsden!!!

(Addison's new BFF)

(Addison L-O-V-E's Her Some Kelly)

Addison was really shy around Kelly the first night that they got here. You would never had known it by these pictures. Luckily after the first night Addison was hanging all over Kelly and I think Kelly was enjoying every moment!

Now, back to our vacation. Friday night Addison had a soccer game so Uncle Greg got to see Addi in action. I don't know how impressed he was since he did make the comment "did you guys have to pay for this?". While I for sure didn't take it personally I just explained to him that one day he'll understand and this chaos he just witnessed will bring a smile to his face. We then allowed Kelly & Greg to participate in our "after soccer pizza" ritual with friends on the soccer team. I think that was the most fun John has ever had at one of these dinners! Due to the ranch dressing shortage we had to call it a night and get ready to go to Adventure Island Water park the next morning.

Saturday was sooo much fun! We got to the water park around 10:30 am and didn't leave until after 4pm! Addison had the best time of her life, it was nice to have Greg and Kelly there so that John could go on some water rides too! Obviously I was fine hanging out w/my baby girl while they took off once in a while. Honestly it seemed like we were together most of the day and I think we all had a great time. I think Addison will always remember the first time she went to Adventure Island and it was with her Uncle Greg.
Sunday we of course had to take Greg and Kelly to the beach so we went over to a fun hangout spot called Caddy's. I will be the first one to tell you how much I HATE the beach, but this experience was actually quite pleasant. The sand didn't bother me too much and the water was actually pretty clean and I even hung out in the ocean for the majority of the day. It was just a great overall experience and perhaps going there has changed my mind about going to the beach in the future. We then went out to dinner for Mother's Day where Greg kindly paid for our dinner. My little brother is growing up (tear, tear). ;_(

(One day Greg will learn to wear sunscreen)

Sadly the trip had to end and they made their way home Monday morning...or at least that's what they thought was going to happen. Unfortunately there was a problem with their plane so rather than getting home by noon on Monday they didn't get home until almost 6pm. I felt horrible especially since we had the best time together and for it to end on that note was a bummer. I hope they will continue to remember the great fun we had and will come back soon. It truly meant a lot to me that they took the time and money to come visit us, I know there was a dozen of different things/places they could of gone on a vacation together. Having the two of them here was a breathe of fresh air and I can't wait for the next time we are all together again!

More Than 1/2 Way There

Well, I hit the 20 week mark last Tuesday and it feels great! Looking back to when I was pregnant with Addison this was when I had my first real breakdown. I remember being so upset knowing I was only half way there and didn't think I could go on. I must admit that my feelings towards being 1/2 way through my pregnancy this time around has been a little different. I'm still sitting here in shock that we're having a second baby and actually praying that the last 20 weeks don't go as fast as the first. Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to NEVER being pregnant again and of course meeting our little man, but I'm also looking forward to the time I still have left spending it alone with Addison and only having 1 child. As most people know, I don't do well with change. I like the routine that Addi and I have established since I've been staying home with her. However, come August its time for a new chapter in our lives to start and that will be my little girl going to school. Then the real journey begins at the end of September when our little Vranich family is complete. I feel amazing and beyond blessed. I hope my spirits remain high and that our family of 3 can continue making some beautiful memories while we prepare for our family to be complete with the arrival of Brody Thomas in September!!
