Baby Small #2

Ok, so I must say the BEST part of my sister visiting last week was having the opportunity to give her an awesome pregnancy gift.  We went to Pregnancy Treasures, the best place ever to go take a look at your baby when you can't do it at your doctor's office.  I would constantly be there when I was pregnant with Brody, whether it be for an ultrasound or a massage.  I even called them after I had Brody to ask them some questions when I was having issues with breastfeeding him.  They are just so amazing and I was more than happy to share this place with my sister.  I was so excited to walk through the door and see my good ol' friend Nancy who totally remembered me and got a huge hug when I saw her.  I honestly just love this woman and feel so comfortable every time I go there, because of her!  I think the biggest compliment was when she said I was always one of her favorites!  How awesome is that?  So, I was super lucky when it came time to talk about if we wanted more than one print out and she said in a whisper "don't worry we'll hook you up".  So, in we went to go check out Natalee and Chad's little peanut and I must say it took everything in me to not bust out crying.  Natalee's little blob from a couple of weeks ago actually looks like a little baby now!  Once again the ultrasound was only suppose to be 5 minutes, but I think we were in there for at least 15 minutes.  After they were done getting pictures of the cute little baby, they stopped and we got to just watch him/her go crazy moving legs and arms and of course watching that little heart beating away.  It was just amazing how you could see the babies nose and profile so clearly.  I feel extremely lucky I was able to witness this and do it for my sister.  She just informed me that they will find out May 25th what they are having!  I'm thinking boy...but I really have no idea!  ;o)

Recap of the Small Visit

Natalee and Kingstyn's visit was a huge success!!!  We had so much fun, but I think the boys and Addison had the most fun.  It was for sure Love at first sight, especially when all Brody wanted to do was touch King's hair as soon as we got in the car from picking them up from the was really funny!  For the most part the boys got along great, I mean c'mon they're 15 and 18 months old!  Brody's still working on his sharing skills, luckily we had big cousin Addison to intervene most of the time to give King his toy back once Brody took away.  That was pretty much the worst of the little spat's that they had.  My favorite parts were when they would hug each other and then go ahead and tackle one another to the ground.  Luckily no one got seriously hurt and it was all in fun!

The pack n' play seemed to be the highlight of the house, we had to keep an eye on those two or should I say three because they were all about wanting to flip inside and play.  Even Addi got in on the action, but she just wanted to lay with her baby cousin and brother.  She was so awesome at keeping an eye on them for us when we couldn't be there every second they would escape to try out the flip again!
The first full day they were here we decided to go take a walk down by the pier.  I had no idea out of all the times Natalee's come to visit she's never been down there.  So, after we ate lunch we headed over there for a nice windy walk.  The weather was so amazing and to top it off the Grand Prix was going on downtown so you could even see the race cars from the top.  This is for sure my favorite spot to get a look at the city and its FREE!  The kids had a blast running around and sticking their heads through the holes to get a closer look.  That's another nice thing, since its all gated you don't have to worry about them jumping or pushing each other into the water.  ;o)  It was a lot of fun to see Kingstyn's face looking down at St. Petersburg and then the wind in his hair was kind of cute too!
On their last day we decided to hit the St. Pete Country Club to "relax" by the pool and just hangout.  Once again the weather was awesome and the water even heated up for us so it wasn't a complete shock to our bodies when we got in.  Once again the boys were hilarious, Brody already thinks he's Michael Phelps and King decided it was fine to tilt himself in the raft and throw his face in the water.  He thought he was so funny!!!  We for sure have some water babies on our hands.  It was alot of fun and I think all the kids as well as the adults had a great time just hanging poolside!
I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was to have my sister and nephew here to visit.  I limited our plans in order for us to just visit and enjoy each other's company.  Kingstyn is getting so big, I feel extremely lucky that I get to see him as often as I do so I can experience him growing up first hand.  While the boys are working on their cousin skills, they were actually really good together.  It was a nice reality check for me so I know what I need to work on with Brody (i.e. sharing).  I love watching these two grow up together and seeing Addison take on the "mama cub" role when we aren't around.  After we dropped them off at the airport on Monday I asked her "are you going to miss tete" she said "yes, but I'm really going to miss Kingstyn".  That melted my heart and actually made me happy because that tells me they are already creating that bond that Natalee and I want so badly for our kids to have.  As I said, it was a great trip, but I'm already looking forward to planning our next one.  I just can't get enough of that Small family!

Thank You Lord Jesus!!

OMG!  I was hit by a damn semi yesterday...aka Migraine!  I should be pretty happy since I use to get these about 1-2 times a week before, but my migraine status should understand that now I have 2 kids this absolutely positively can't happen anymore!  I think since I've been out of the migraine loop for a while I didn't notice the signs on Tuesday so I wasn't able to catch it before it really hit me.   Which people that get these know...if you don't catch it before the actual symptoms control your life for a day then your totally screwed.  Well, that's exactly what happened to me!  I woke up Tuesday/Wednesday early morning completely covered in sweat, which I thought was really weird, but didn't think too much about it.  However, when I woke up at 7 Wednesday morning I knew my day was NOT going to go very smoothly.  I was so out of it and of course had the numbness come on and then my right eye along with the awful pulsating running down the back of my neck...there was no denying it!  Luckily Brody went down for an early nap around 9 and since Addi is pretty self sufficient I was able to tell her I had to lay down because I didn't feel well.  My baby girl got in bed with me and rubbed my head for 30 seconds and then went off to watch her show until about 11.  Brody got up around 11:30 and we ate lunch.  Like I said having 2 kids especially one that's on Spring Break, there's no room for just laying in bed feeling sorry for yourself.  I was hoping getting Brody out of the house for a little bit would help him take an afternoon nap (we went to the park and got ice cream), but as we know Brody doesn't play by the nap rules and I got to hear a whiny, snot running crying kid from 3-6.  Once John got home I ate dinner and was in bed by 6:30!  I slept from 6:30 until 10:30 when he woke me up to see if I wanted to brush my teeth.  I did, after that I slept from 10:45 until 7am!  Thank god for an understanding husband who gets right into his dad duties when he walks through the door because I really needed the rest!  I woke up today feel 99.9% better.  I still have a little pulsating, now on the left side of my neck, but nothing that can't keep me from making this a much better day for my kids.  I must say, I miss those days when I would get hit with these and would stay home from work, lay in bed and only leave when it was time to pick Addi up from daycare.  Those days are way gone, we all know when your a stay at home mom you NEVER get a day off (unless its the weekend) and you have to figure out a way to make it work.  I did just that and now I'm in love with my kids all over again today.  I must say this was a huge reminder to thank God that these migraines don't control my life like they use to, because seriously we would have big problems if this occurred more often than it does.  Ok, I'm done feeling sorry for myself and I'm ready to get in the shower to take my kids to Chuck E Cheese!

2 1/2 Visitors are Coming!!!

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how excited I am to see my 2 favorite people!!!  My sister Natalee and Kingstyn are boarding a plan this afternoon to come spend some time with the Vranich family!   I can't believe its been since November that I've seen them, I miss them everyday and can't wait to hang out for the weekend.  Natalee made me promise that I wouldn't make any plans (since I keep them too busy whenever they come) but we have a couple things planned.  My favorite thing she allowed me to plan was going to the place I would constantly go when I was pregnant with Brody, so I am giving her a pregnancy gift by taking her there and getting an ultrasound of the 1/2 visitor.  She's about 11 weeks pregnant now, but it will still be fun for Sese (that's me) to see my niece or nephew before he/she is actually here.  While I am doing this for her since she doesn't get very many ultrasounds, but technically its more for me since I can't be with her when she goes to the dr.  The other thing I really want to do is take them to the beach so I can watch my little King play w/Addison and Brody in the sand.  I'm very excited to capture these cousins bonding on camera.  Honestly. even if we were to sit in our house and the kids play I would be happy, I just love having them here, but we all know that's not going to happen!

This is my other 1/2 visitor that's coming.  I can't wait to kiss all over my sisters belly even if the baby is just a little nugget and let him/her know I will spoil & love them just as much as their big brother King!  I just can't wait!!!

More Sibling Bonding!!!

I LOVE how much my kids love each other!  Brody is constantly hugging and loving all over his sister and thankfully Addison enjoys the love and does the same thing with her little brother!  I think she gets more excited about having a brother everyday.  Now that Brody can run around after her and throw/catch the ball with her she's in heaven!  Too bad he goes to bed around 7, because that would really help with when all she wants to do is play games with me and John!  I couldn't ask for a better relationship between the two of them.  I'm super lucky that my little guy is such a little lover and while he has his moments where he thinks its funny to pull Addison's hair, overall its alot of fun to watch them play nicely together and the fact Addison is old enough to know she needs to share with him is a bonus.  I feel bad at times because of course whatever Addison's doing or playing with...he wants to as well.  You can see Addison get frustrated, but she knows he's just a baby and I explain she's helping him learn to be a good boy!  You can see she's proud to have that role.  Have I told you how lucky I feel!

I've been bringing my camera out alot lately.  I'm so in love with my kids big blue eyes, Addison's little freckles and their milky white skin.  I just can't help myself...I need to capture these baby moments before they're teenagers dealing with teenager stuff!  ;o)

Rockin a Pretty Sweet Hat!!

Brody and I hit the park last week since the weather has been so gorgeous!  We love this park that we normally visit during the day since we basically have it to ourselves, its fenced in and I love that its fake grass rather than wood chips or sand!  Since my beautiful son has inherited his father's side of the families skin (I guess 1/2 of mine too) I have to put a hat on him in order for the poor kid to not fry his head.  I can't believe that 9 times out of 10 he's perfectly fine with wearing a hat, I love it!  Of course I had to capture him wearing this cute hat that is just slightly too big for his head.  I have to tilt it a little to the side so he can see where he's walking.  ;o)

Even with his hat on he still gets rosy cheeks like his mommy when its hot outside.  I love the picture below since it shows off his cute chunky cheeks!  He's for sure one cute little boy who's all mine!

Wine Tasting!!!

Well, I have to admit the main reason why we didn't do much for St. Patrick's Day was because I hosted a wine tasting party at my friend Liz's house.  While we had a blast I'm thinking 6 bottles of wine between 4 people is never a good idea!  I was feeling great and pretty sober until right before it was time to leave and I realized it was after 1am!  All the sudden the wine and the fact I was really tired from the activities earlier in the day hit me!  I seriously can't believe I got to Liz's around 6:30 and all the sudden we looked at the clock and it was 1am.  I had so much fun with the ladies and haven't laughed like that in a really long time.  No topic was off limits which lead to lots of giggles and loud talking.  I've known Liz and Mary for a couple of years now and since our older kids are in school and we're busy with other activities it was nice to spend time with them and also get to know Mary's sister Anna.  I actually woke up the next morning feeling ok, slightly tired but really excited to see the kids and was excited for us to head to the pool, after we ate some eggs it all kicked in!  I felt like crap and was continuing to yell at myself for doing this to myself, John reminded me its just what I needed and I shouldn't feel bad.  So, he headed to the pool for a couple of hours without me while I rested and took some Mylanta to coat my stomach.  Thank God after 2 hours of resting I was able to join my little family at the pool and some friends that met us there as well.  At least I was reminded that I'm way too old to drink like this, I think it would of been different if I hadn't had plans already setup for us to have a special day with the kids, it for sure made me mad at myself a little more.  O'well like I said, we had fun and I have no intentions of having a wine tasting party for a really long time!  ;o)

Vranich St. Patrick's Day

This year I basically celebrated St. Patrick's day a day early with the kids at Addison's school.  They had a cute little party which entailed a leprechaun trap that didn't catch the leprechaun, but lead them on a hunt with the clues he left.  They didn't catch him, but they each received a bag of chocolate gold at the last clue!  The party also included some really fun art projects, my favorite was putting the kids hands in green paint and making a clover canvas to bring home.  Since my little tag along (Mr. Brody) was with me, we even got to make one for him too!  After a snack of lucky charms cereal and green colored milk it was time to go outside and play.  Usually I leave at the end of these parties, but Brody loves going out and playing with the kids and it wears him out (win/win)!

I don't know what to think of this picture below.  Addison seriously thinks she's going to marry this little guy below, Casen.  Unfortunately they are going to different schools next year so that might put a damper on their relationship.  They are pretty cute together...I'll save this picture just in case in 20+ years they do end up together!  ;o)
Not only did Addison have projects going on at her school, but even Brody's daycare made a little project for him to bring home!  I just love Miss Anita and the fact that she does stuff like this with her little ones!  Brody even made one for us for Valentine's Day.  Hopefully she knows I'm expecting one for Easter!  ;o)
We didn't do much on the actual day of St. Patrick's Day, but I think this busy Friday made up for it.  I can't believe John and I didn't even have a green beer!  That's what happens when your life revolves around your crazy kids!
Hope everyone had an awesome St. Patrick's Day!!

Party at the Beach!!

I can't believe it, but little Parker is 1!  I met the Bigler family when Parker was only a couple of months old and now the little guy is 1!!!  Since Brody took forever to wake his booty up we ended up being about an hour late for his party.  ;o(  Luckily we made it in time to sing him Happy Birthday and watch him get into his cupcake.  He's such a little cutie, its kind of funny because Parker and Brody will be in the same class and his sister Addison is also the same age as our Addison.  Guess the Vranich's and the Bigler's were on the same page with the age gap!

After singing we decided to venture down by the water with the kids.  Wow, it was so much fun and the kids loved it.  We didn't bring their bathing suits thinking the water would be too cold and there would be no way they would want to get wet...well we were completely wrong!  It all started with John and I talking and then looking over to see Brody almost up to his waist in water!  So, rather than freaking out we just looked at each other and said "I guess we were wrong".  I wasn't too worried because I knew I had backup clothes for him in the diaper bag.
I couldn't believe (well, I guess I could) how much fun he was having in the water.  He had no fear and we loved it!  The older kids were having so much fun playing in the sand and building sand castles or just throwing the sand around.  Our next thought was there's absolutely no way Miss Addison will ever get wet and go in there.  Well, once again we were wrong.  She was so excited to get in the water and have some fun.  Her shorts were soaked, so it made more sense for her to just take them off and play in her underwear.  Next thing we knew, all the kids were jumping in with their clothes on and the parents just watched hysterically laughing.  We really liked Carter's Superman underwear!
The Best part for me with this experience was just letting go.  Not freaking out that the kids didn't stick with the plan I had in my head.  Thinking they would never go in the water w/o their bathing suits and when they did I just enjoyed the moment.  John and I allowed our kids to just be kids and I must say this is the first time I feel like I'm letting go of my "control" issues.  This was the best day for me all around.  The kids had a great time and walked away saying "this is the best day ever", most importantly John and I just got to enjoy our kids having fun without freaking out.  Once they were done we went into "ok, what can we put on Addison" mode, but it was completely calm and I honestly loved every second of it!  I really like this new Stephanie, I'm sad its taken me a long time to get to this point of just letting things happen rather than always having a plan, but this just proves to me how much I'm growing as a person and I must admit...its so much more fun not being uptight!  I'm constantly growing and learning to just have fun and don't sweat the small stuff!
